Deep tissue massage is our most popular service at Zama!

This pain-relieving massage includes:

  • Focused pressure on areas of discomfort
  • Deep tissue massage reaches deep layers in the muscle and fascia
  • Breaks up knots and uncomfortable adhesions
  • Perfect for those needing relief from chronic pain, especially in the back, neck and shoulders.
  • 45, 60, 75, 90 or 120 min sessions available.

Deep Tissue MassageDeep tissue is crafted to provide deep relief.  It alleviates pain in your body, usually the neck, upper back and shoulders, or the low back.

Aches and pains commonly come with playing sports and participation in challenging activities. Also, painful muscular imbalances result from an injury, such as a fall or car accident. Pain can also be present in our bodies because of prolonged poor posture, or a lack of proper ergonomics at work.

What is Deep Tissue Massage?

Deep tissue massage uses some of the same massage strokes that you would experience in a relaxing Swedish massage, however, the pressure is generally firmer. It also involves focusing prolonged pressure on the inner layers of the muscle fibers and connective tissue, or fascia, and going against the grain of the muscle tissue. The techniques in used in deep tissue will break up adhesions or “knots” that are causing your discomfort.Deep Tissue Massage

While working out those tight spots, your therapist is assisting your body by opening up the damaged tissue and flushing out toxins. Because deep tissue massage stimulates your lymphatic system and provides circulation, it is highly effective in providing holistic healing. Not only will you get pain relief, but your immune and overall nervous system will reap the rewards as well!

Deep tissue massage provides a holistic therapeutic experience.

Be prepared to experience some discomfort as your therapist breaks up adhesions and tight spots. Your therapist will want you to communicate when you feel you have reached your pain threshold so that they can adjust to provide maximum benefits within your comfort level.

After massage care.

We highly recommend that you hydrate well after any massage, especially after deep tissue. Your therapist will be breaking up scar tissue and flushing out toxins. Proper hydration will ensure help continue the flushing of toxins and help make sure that you don’t leave with a headache or feel sore the next day.

You can deepen your experience even more at home after your massage with Epsom salt baths. This therapeutic bath will expedite healing and tame inflammation. We highly recommend stocking up on Epsom salts to aid in your healing and recovery at home.

We highly recommend this type of massage for injuries!

Great for anyone with chronic or acute pain, and is used in treating soft tissue injury due to auto accidents. It also aids in recovery from sports-related injuries.deep tissue massage
