The review is a little overdue yet I still wanted to review them because when you are paying $$$ for a session you need to have other yelpers honest opinions.I... read more booked the couples massage after looking at a few other places and seeing the great reviews Zama had.we walked in and were told to check -in ,no tea or water was offered .We were then sent upstairs and our masseuse walked us over what to expect and if we had any areas we would like to focus on.I did not particularly like my massage ,it felt rushed at points and too relaxed at others however my hubby loved his and hence the four stars.Afterwards we were taken to a different room for truffles and champagne ,which was a nice touch.I have had a lot of massages since and have had far better experiences with a lot less to spend.

Planning during a pandemic is a real bummer. We showed up for our appointment only to find out that it needed to be rescheduled, their staff members had caught covid.... read more For some reason their attempt to contact me that morning, went unregistered on my phone until 30 minutes after we arrived. *Enter rant about horrible 5G reception in Portland*
It was my husbands birthday and I was trying to treat him/us to a couples spa day. Unfortunately, they couldn't get us in for 4 weeks, if we kept the same packages. So I told them to find what ever couples package was available the soonest, which ended up being a 90 minute Himalayan Dream package, only 6 days later. To be honest, I was half awake and didn't fully understand how awesome this package was.
We walked in to our new appointment and were totally blown away. I had never heard of Halotherapy before but let me tell you, we are fans now! The room transported us into a totally different headspace. We arrived as total stress balls and entered that room feeling peaceful just by existing in it. Every inch of the walls and ceiling space was covered in salt blocks or stones, with a warm rope light snaking behind them. Nothing about this room felt clinical, like so many other places can feel, despite them trying to decorate with a spa theme. It'll be hard to have a massage in any other setting but this.
My husband was paired with Jennifer and I was paired with LMT Alex. I can honestly say that this was my favorite massage experience, ever. I've been to some really high end spas to smaller local spas, and this experience here blew them all away. Alex really listened to my needs and followed them exactly. I wanted a relaxing massage that still worked out some of my muscle issues and problem areas, and he did just that. Most places either go too hard and I'm having to breathe through the entire session. Other places go too soft and while it's relaxing, I walk out still feeling tight.
Side note: We've got al little running joke that my husband always ends up with the quirky massage therapist. We've done a few other couples massages at other places and while I've come away feeling wonderful, he's always come away confused and with a hilarious story. One time his person kept snapping her fingers around his head, whispering if he heard them, throughout their entire session. So this time, when I heard him react in surprise, I was a little worried that he again, got the quirky one. This time however, it was good. He has had this problem area on his mid back that he has never been able to figure out (nor any other massage therapist). Jennifer had managed to find this spot on his left oblique that was connected to this problem area and started to work on it. I heard her say, *I know this doesn't feel good but it's pretty bad and we're here, so lets get this worked out so you can feel better.* He was so grateful for that.
Continuing on to this unexpectedly long review... the second new experience for us here was using hot stones. I've always seen photos of people with stones positioned on their backs and I've never understood the allure. No part of having hot stones sitting stationary on my body, sounded fun. Happy to report back that the hot stone massage was nothing like this. Alex used them intermittently as part of his massage and it was amazing. Using the hot stone itself to massage and warm up my muscles. Both my husband and I were melted into puddles, after we got the hot stones used on our feet, too.
After we were done, we got welcomed into a beautifully decorated room where we had chocolate truffles and rose waiting for us. We sat there talking about how amazing everything had gone and that we wanted to make this a monthly ritual. My husband and I both work from home since this pandemic, we are also doing distance learning with our 6 year old from home and have a new baby. To say there is zero self care for either of us (or sleep) is an understatement. So this spa day was very needed and we couldn't be more static that it went so well.
We ended up cancelling our facials, as we'd have to be maskless and Omicron is making us feel uneasy... but we're so excited for when we can reschedule them here. Heaven knows, my face needs a little love.
If you're looking at this place for a massage, just book it. You wont be disappointed!

I got the best deep tissue massage I've ever gotten in my life. Period. I can't believe that even during COVID, staff were able to create such a relaxing and... read more inviting atmosphere with all possible safety considerations!
COVID protocol - I booked my appointment and payment ahead of time as well as filled out a new customer intake form - all online. When you physically arrive, you wait on designated markers for someone to let you in (I waited seconds). Then, you come in and are checked in, bottom of shoes sanitized with spray, hand sanitizer, and basic COVID form signed. The waiting room couch is wrapped in plastic - but honestly I'm just impressed that there was somewhere for me to sit prior to the start of my appointment!
ZAMA atmosphere - everything is sparkling clean. It's clear a lot of effort has been going into cleanliness. Additionally, the actual styling of the treatment rooms are on point in terms of soft, low lighting, calming music, gentle fragrance, and full privacy.
Elizabeth - my masseuse was so kind and walked me through getting started. She knew exactly when to check in for pressure points. I seriously will be coming back to her because I feel like my shoulders dropped half an inch after being so tight from sitting in front of a computer for months on end!!

We chose Zama because of the salt room but didn't get to experience it unfortunately. It just wasn't what we were expecting so -1 star, not a huge deal though.

Logan gave me an incredible massage! He clearly knew what he was doing- he got so many spots therapists usually miss and he had such a consistently firm pressure throughout.... read more It feels rare to find a good therapist that puts in as much effort as Logan did at the end of the day, but Logan did great. Highly recommend and would definitely come back.
